Founded in 2005 by Jesper Kouthoofd, Jens Rudberg, David Eriksson and later joined by David Möllerstedt, Teenage Engineering are a Swedish electronics manufacturer that have been capturing the worlds attention through their portable and aesthetically unique instruments. The Stockholm based company first released their flagship product, the OP-1 at the NAMM show in 2010 and since then it has gone on to be used with some of the worlds most well known artists such as Diplo, Deadmau5, Tame Impala, Bon Iver, Depeche Mode, Beck, Swedish House Mafia, Chvrches, Dan Deacon and many others. The OP-1 received acclaim for its unique and unconventional design, incorporating a synthesizer, sequencer and sampler to create an all in one music creation tool that has incredibly flexible and promotes unique interaction in the creative process.
Since the release of the OP-1, Teenage Engineering have brought out their pocket operator range of products, which include the PO-32 Tonic and PO-12 Rhythm Drum Machine operators as well as the PO-14 Sub, PO-16 Factory, PO-20 Arcade, PO-24 Office and PO-28 Robot Synthesizer Range. Like the OP-1, The pocket operators were hugely popular and initial orders from their 2015 NAMM release were rumoured to be as a high as 40,000.
We’re very excited to now be stocking the whole Teenage Engineering range and we’re eagerly anticipating the release of their newest instrument, the OP-Z. In the meantime, you can browse the range of Teenage Engineering products here.
