The MXR EVH 5150 Chorus Effect Pedal is based on a chorus unit the legendary Eddie Van Halen used on his most classic recordings from the 1980’s, including “(Oh) Pretty Woman” and “Little Guitars.”
It has a simple three-knob setup of Volume, Tone, and Intensity, plus Input and Output Level pad switches, mono and stereo outputs, and an internal True/Buffered Bypass switch. The pad switches allow you to set up for a variety of input and output sources including guitar direct into amp and effects loop send and return. The Tone knob offers a warm sound that gets brighter as you turn it and the Volume knob offers lots of extra gain if you like a little bit of boost with your chorus.
