Originally intended for sophisticated jazz guitarists, the Fender Jazzmaster was quickly embraced by musicians attracted to its left of centre looks and fat sound. A direct descendant of the guitar that powered underground music from the late 60’s to today, the American Professional Jazzmaster is ready to lend its unique sound to your playing. An elegant model with flexible electronics and a rich voice, the Jazzmaster’s introduction in 1958 marked the first time a rosewood fingerboard was used on a Fender instrument. Thanks to its effortless playing feel and ergonomic offset-waist body, the Fender Jazzmaster has powered countless musicians including Sonic Youth, Television, My Bloody Valentine, Elvis Costello, Wilco, J Mascis and many more.
The new American Professional Jazzmaster features a number of upgrades an modifications on the classic vintage design, the first of which is in the electronics. Longtime pickup guru Michael Frank, developer of the renowned Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster Pickups, has developed the brand new V-Mod Jazzmaster pickups. The V-Mod pickups kick out a hot, vintage-inspired tone with plenty of punch and definition and through the new treble-bleed tone circuit, retain high end clarity when adjusting the volume controls. The new modern ‘Deep C’ shaped neck profile feels just right in your hand while the narrow-tall frets make it easy to bend strings accurately and play perfectly intonated chords. The tremolo and bridge saddle have also been updated to feature a screw in trem arm and brass Mustang saddles, which have been a common upgrade on vintage Jazzmaster models for years to help stabilize your strings and add a touch of sonic zip to your tone.
The new American Professional Jazzmaster is the latest form of electric inspiration from Fender, offering the best of yesterday and today. Step up and stake your claim to a legend.
