MIDI keyboards & controllers.
MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) first appeared in the 1980’s by a man named Dave Smith, who released the first ever version of the MIDI standard. MIDI devices work by releasing a signal called an “event message” to a MIDI enabled device, then takes that information as pitch, velocity and so on. For example, MIDI keyboards use the keyboard as a medium to take these signals to be transmitted onto music software, outlining what note was played, how long it was held for and how hard it was it.
A MIDI controller on the other hand connects MIDI data between MIDI enabled devices and your computer. If you’re looking for a MIDI keyboard or MIDI controller, World Of Music have a great range available online or to purchase in-store today.
