Instrument Repairs

We have a number of great techs on staff to help with almost any of your repair needs. Guitar repairs, setups and restrings are worked on in the store and can generally be turned around within 24 hours. Any restoration work or electronic repairs such as amplifiers, keyboards, guitar effects, pickup installation etc will have a larger turnaround time.

Our guitar techs pride themselves on delivering high-quality work to make sure we get your instrument playing to the best of its ability and to your desired needs. Single string replacement can be turned around in-store immediately but please allow 24 hours for the complete guitar. Restrings start at $40 + strings for a standard 6-string guitar and setups at $110 + strings. Our guitar setups include a restring, adjusting the action and intonation, cleaning the fretboard and checking pickup heights and neck angle. If the gear we have supplied you is not working as you expect it should then please contact us so we can manage the warranty repair for you. World of Music is not authorised to determine if any repair is covered by warranty and it can only be authorised by the Australian suppliers accredited service agent, though we are in most instances the best people to handle the warranty repair for you if the product was purchased from us.

For guitar amplifier and electronic instrument repairs we have a list of dedicated technicians and are happy to refer you to the person best suited for your specific repair.

If your drum kit is in need of new drum heads and a tune up then one of our techs on staff can help with bringing your kit up to a gigging and recording standard. Drum head replacement/tuning costs $20 per head plus the cost of the head. Please allow at least 48 hours turnaround time for any drum skin replacement.
