The XS-100 takes everything great about the XS-1 and expands on it with advanced features, deeper control and entirely new performance capabilities for this market.
You get the same pristine, low-latency pitch shifting but now with:
- A massive four-octave (up and down) range.
- A built-in expression pedal (with assignable toe-switch) for dynamic pitch control.
- Onboard memory to store 30 custom presets, ready to recall by footswitch or MIDI.
- Quick edit screen to simply select overall tuning, pitch bend settings as well as deep customization over effect and expression parameters.
For the rig-builders and power-users, the XS-100 is fully loaded: MIDI I/O, USB-C for updates, an independent analog dry-through and input for additional footswitches and expression pedal.
Players can finetune dry/wet balance, dial in pedal response curves and tweak detailed parameters to really make the effect their own.
Our XS line isn’t just a new take on pitch pedals. This is the new gold standard.
Natural Sound with Advanced BOSS Technology
In developing the XS series, BOSS engineers pioneered new methods to advance real-time pitch shifting and eliminate the tonal artifacts common in conventional designs. Powered by finely tuned algorithms and a specially selected DSP platform, the XS-100 provides balanced polyphonic performance that feels natural and musical across all playing styles, pickup positions, and pedal setups. Your instrument’s attack and tonal character are fully preserved, and even complex chords and sustained lead tones—typically a challenge for pitch shifters—are reproduced with stunning clarity.
Total Pitch Control
With the XS-100 underfoot, you’re in full command of nearly any pitch effect imaginable. The responsive pedal offers linear control of four octaves up or down, and independent pitch-change speeds for each pedal direction make it easy to produce motor revving tones and other interesting effects. At the end of the pedal’s travel, you can use the integrated toe switch to introduce momentary pitch jumps with adjustable range and rise/fall time. Two footswitches are also available to bypass the pedal shift and quickly retune your instrument at fixed semitone steps across eight octaves.
Customise and Save
The XS-100 gives you the tools to shape pitch effects with precision and personality. Customise the pedal’s range for different songs or techniques and fine-tune the response curve to suit your playing style. Freely reassign the toe switch and footswitches to alternate functions. Craft rich doubling effects with the detuning option and explore many other ways to refine your sound. Once everything’s dialled in, save your setup to one of 30 memories for instant recall during live sets or studio sessions.
Integrate with Every Rig
Filled with flexible connectivity, the XS-100 flows with every performance setup. Up to two external footswitches or an expression pedal are supported, expanding your real-time control options. MIDI I/O opens the door to more advanced applications, from external MIDI control to sending MIDI commands with the pedal and footswitches. There’s also a secondary output that mirrors the input signal, providing parallel routing flexibility for sophisticated rigs.
