Two years since its initial release, the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Alpha Haunt Fuzz gets a makeover. The pedal explores the vast variety of sounds you can coax from one fuzz circuit, from open overdrives to squashed sputters. Now in a more pedalboard-friendly package, the Alpha Haunt Fuzz continues to offer users its uniquely versatile control set.
The Alpha Haunt Fuzz Features
- Variable control over fuzz gain, compression, and tone to set the base fuzz sound
- Switchable fuzz range, bias, and tone control voices for further options
- A parallel Enhance circuit with independent volume to bring in body and clarity
- Active three band master EQ to shape the output
- Master volume to control the overall output level
- Soft touch relay bypass switching and standard 9VDC centre negative power
The Alpha Haunt Fuzz Controls
- Master Volume: Controls the overall volume of the effect.
- Fuzz Volume: Controls the volume of the fuzz signal – most of the controls are related to the fuzz.
- Fuzz Range: Selects the range of available fuzz. Down is lower gain, up is higher gain.
- Fuzz: Increases the gain of the fuzz.
- Gate: Controls the character of the fuzz. It is interactive with the Fuzz control, so your fuzziest, squashiest sounds are with both controls all the way up
- Bias: Controls the power of the fuzz. turn it clockwise for a sputtery fuzz and noise gate effect.
- LPF: Controls the tone of the fuzz. Turn the knob counterclockwise for a warmer sound, and clockwise for a brighter sound. The LPT toggle changes the behaviour of the knob.
LPT 1 acts like a familiar tone control
LPT 2 stays brighter and affects the midrange
LPT OFF bypasses the knob entirely – this setting is loud! - Enhance: Brings body and clarity by controlling the volume of a cleaner signal that processes parallel to the fuzz. The three-band EQ affects this signal and the fuzz together.
- Bass: Cuts or boosts low frequencies
- Mid: Cuts or boosts mid frequencies
- High: Cuts of boosts high frequencies
